Gyani Dayal Singh (1934 - 2012) was one of the leading figures in the world of Gurmat Sangeet. He served as the Principal of the Gurmat Vidyalya at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj in Delhi from 1967 to 2012, dedicating over four decades to preserving and teaching sacred Sikh music.

Born in Badla Singha village, Meerut district, he began his musical journey in 1946 at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Gurmat Vidyalya, studying Kirtan, Tabla, Sarinda, and Dilruba under Gyani Hardit Singh Ji. His exceptional talent led him to accompany renowned Ragi Bhai Samund Singh and collaborate with Bhai Gian Singh Ji on the seminal work "Gurbani Sangeet."

From 1959 to 1964, he served at Sri Harmandir Sahib, playing Dilruba during Asa Di Var recitals. In 1967, he assumed leadership of Gurmat Vidyalya, where he trained countless dedicated Ragis who continue to keep Gurmat Sangeet traditions alive today.
